Licensed Psychologist and Consultant
I am a Licensed Psychologist and Consultant in Wyoming and Colorado and am the founder and CEO of Mind Spa. I earned a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Sioux Falls Seminary in South Dakota and a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University. I’ve been providing therapy for over a decade and have expanded my expertise to entrepreneurs, business owners, “power couples”, and influencers.
ENTREPRENEURS & BUSINESS OWNERS:
It is so incredibly fun, enjoyable, and fulfilling to work with hard chargers and those that are out to make the world a better place to live. I brain stormed new business revenue ideas. I help owners process their anxiety about proceeding with a decision. I provide a safe place for entrepreneurs to share and move beyond their biggest fears about starting business. I help influencers realize how their past is getting in the way of offering their biggest influence. These are just a few of the ways in which I collaboratively help entrepreneurs gain more momentum in their life.
MENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONERS:
One of the joys in my business has been seeing other providers flourish. I provide supervision and consultation and currently am launching the first even Rural Private Practice Therapist Mastermind. Because I live and work in a rural area and have experienced so many others’ journeys, I understand the difficulty of navigating these challenging environments. The Mastermind provides support and encouragement in a learning and growth environment.
Are you feeling stuck and unsure how to reach your potential? Do you feel like you are living your life from your deficits instead of your strengths? Do you notice that your mindset is stuck on the negative rather than problem solving and looking towards the future?
I am absolutely passionate about helping you grow and realize your strengths. It can be a simple concept yet so elusive. There are many strategies and tools that can promote growth and healing. There are timeless foundational principles you can draw on, but it is easy to get lost in it all and feel overwhelmed. Developing a plan that is specifically catered to your needs is going to serve you best. I would value the opportunity to come along side you and help nudge you in the direction you want to go, helping you develop a strong set of skills. The metaphor I often use is having a tool belt around your waist. All good contractors need a tool belt filled with a variety of tools. What is challenging is that each job may require a different set of tools, but you can expect to need tools for every job. Likewise, you also need a diverse set of skills for dealing with all of the intricacies that life throws your way.
I spent about four years as an Active Duty Psychologist in the Air Force, which is what originally brought me to Cheyenne, WY. My husband, children and I have found Cheyenne to be very much like the town we grew up in, and we have made this our home.
My husband stays busy as a realtor and associate broker at Coldwell Banker The Property Exchange. Additionally, we are entrepreneurs at our core and avid real estate investors. Our work in business and real estate flow out of our passion for helping others. When we see needs, we work to build and create solutions. In additional to my professional side, I am continually kept busy and challenged with our four children.
When I have a moment of “free” time, I find myself pulled towards activities that promote growth and self improvement (probably not surprising given I’m a Psychologist)! I love reading educational nonfiction books, long-distance running (marathons and half-marathons), painting (my home and office are filled with my acrylic masterpieces), and planning for the future.
**** I am also the Public Education Campaign Chair for the State of Wyoming through the American Psychological Association. I am happy to work with any organization or individual who wants more information on anything psychology related. This could include answering questions, providing written materials, writing articles, engaging in interviews, etc.
