Are you feeling stuck and unsure how to reach your potential? Do you feel like you are living your life from your deficits instead of your strengths? Do you notice that your mindset is stuck on the negative rather than problem solving and looking towards the future?
I am absolutely passionate about helping you grow and realize your strengths. It can be a simple concept yet so elusive. There are many strategies and tools that can promote growth and healing. There are timeless foundational principles you can draw on, but it is easy to get lost in it all and feel overwhelmed. Developing a plan that is specifically catered to your needs is going to serve you best. I would value the opportunity to come along side you and help nudge you in the direction you want to go, helping you develop a strong set of skills. The metaphor I often use is having a tool belt around your waist. All good contractors need a tool belt filled with a variety of tools. What is challenging is that each job may require a different set of tools, but you can expect to need tools for every job. Likewise, you also need a diverse set of skills for dealing with all of the intricacies that life throws your way.
I am a Licensed Psychologist in Wyoming and Colorado and am the founder and CEO of Mind Spa. I earned a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Sioux Falls Seminary in South Dakota and a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University. I’ve been providing therapeutic services for over a decade and have a broad range of clinical experiences, to include working at a domestic violence center and shelter, half-way house for individuals who just got out of prison, community mental health center, college student counseling center, hospital, military mental health clinic, and a VA Medical Center. I spent about four years as an Active Duty Psychologist in the Air Force, which is what originally brought me to Cheyenne, WY. Because I like to be productive and a good steward of my time and talents, I am also an Adjunct Clinical Faculty Member at the University of Wyoming Family Medical Residency Program in Cheyenne and a consultant for the Wyoming Disability Determination Offices. In addition to my clinical work with Mind Spa, I am also a co-founder of Leadership 3D, which is a leadership development and organizational culture coaching organization. I have the privilege of working with leaders in a variety of positions and industries to maximize their skills, abilities, and their team.
My husband, children and I have found Cheyenne to be very much like the town we grew up in, and we have made this our home. My husband stays busy as a realtor . Additionally, we are entrepreneurs at our core and avid real estate investors. Our work in business and real estate flow out of our passion for helping others. When we see needs, we work to build and create solutions. In additional to my professional side, I am continually kept busy and challenged with our four children. When I have a moment of “free” time, I find myself pulled towards activities that promote growth and self improvement (probably not surprising given I’m a Psychologist)! I love reading educational nonfiction books, long-distance running (marathons and half-marathons), painting, and planning for the future.
**** I am also the Public Education Campaign Chair for the State of Wyoming through the American Psychological Association. I am happy to work with any organization or individual who wants more information on anything psychology related. This could include answering questions, providing written materials, writing articles, engaging in interviews, etc.
