Provisional Clinical Social Worker
“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying ‘Soften the orange a bit on the right-hand corner.’ I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.” – Carl Rogers
I believe that where there is help there is hope, and we can work side-by-side to get you through some of your most difficult issues. I enjoy working from a strengths-based perspective, encouraging clients to recognize their full potential and utilize their strengths in such a way they feel empowered to bring about positive change.
I am a licensed Provisional Clinical Social Worker in the state of Wyoming. I received my Master of Social Work in May 2016 from the University of South Dakota. I received my Bachelor of Science in Child, Adult, and Family Services with an emphasis in Youth Development in 2013 from Iowa State University.
I have specialized training working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I utilize Play Therapy, CBT, EMDR Therapy, and DBT with my patients to help them overcome struggles with trauma, attachment, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and personality disorders, as well as disruptive behaviors. I am trained in EMDR Therapy BASICS through the Maiberger Institute, an EMDR Institute and EMDRIA approved training program for EMDR Therapy.
I grew up in Central Iowa, the oldest of four children. I met my now fiancé three and half years ago in college. Over the past several years, he has encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone many times and try new things such as skiing and kayaking– activities I can now say are some of my favorites. My fiancé and I (along with our 4-year-old dog) moved to Wyoming in May 2016 for the wonderful opportunities to live and grow in one of the most beautiful states in our union.
